The Happiest Otters on Earth!

So, today during lunch I was in our cafeteria with my friend, C. Outside our cafeteria is a pond that you can walk around. At the table, I was facing the windows/pond and C had her back to it. As we were talking, I became distracted by something dark moving around on the bank of the pond. All I knew was that it wasn't a bird (there are lots of birds - LOTS of ducks out there). After watching it a little while, I figured out that it was an otter! I begged C to go outside with me to investigate. She reluctantly said yes (we thought the otter might have eaten a baby duck - there was a lot of activity out there and she didn't want to see the potential "carnage").

When we got out there, we realized it was actually a little "family" of FOUR otters! They were having fun, rolling around in the water, finding fish, eating them and horsing around with each other (we came to the conclusion that they probably did NOT eat a baby duck, but were either playing or fighting over a fish).

I was able to snap a few cool shots of them in the pond... there is this walkway that goes over part of the pond, which is how I got the really close-up shot. They were on the move because the otter in the front of the "lineup" had found himself a VERY LARGE fish and the others were squawking and clucking at him that he needed to share, and they quickly formed a uniform line all following the large fish :)

My standard joke for all animals we find on Disney property... "These must be the Happiest Otters on Earth!!"
