I went with my team from work to the local Toys for Tots distribution center yesterday. What an experience! We unloaded and sorted two 18 wheeler trailors full of toys! We sorted the toys by age group and then had to to take them out to the shelves (we were in an old grocery store) of the appropriate age group. People are so generous!!
The bikes were just amazing. There were eight sections for boys/girls in different age groups. The space was maybe half a city block large, and the bikes were lined up one next to another next to another... all crammed in.
One suggestion... if you plan on donating toys to Toys for Tots, likely your local distribution center has the same issues. There are lots of toys for the younger children but when you get to the 10-12 year olds and then the 13-15 year olds, there is hardly anything. So, if you plan on buying, focus on those age groups!! :)
